SJC Guidelines

REGISTRATION

  1. Registration will start at 8AM on Saturday 11th August, 2012. There will be three counters:
    1. Counter 1 – ECE & EEE
    2. Counter 2 – CIV
    3. Counter 3 – MECH
  2. Registration involves signing the register and collecting the welcome kit which is a A4 size envelope (Brown) with the following inside:
    1. Personal Data Form (PD Form)
    2. Memento Collection Slip
    3. Voting Slip
    4. Memory Deposit envelope with name and batch printed on it
  3. Name Badges: Please collect the badges
    1. For you – Name has been printed already
    2. Family members – Provide the name to the volunteer so that they can write the name
    3. Every one is expected to wear the name badge for easy identification.
    4. You can retain the name badges as a souvenir.
  4. Food Coupons: Collect the number of coupons you require for lunch and dinner. Provide the choice of Veg & Nonveg in the register. Access to the dining area is restricted and only persons with food coupons will be allowed in after surrender of the coupon.
  5. Personal Data Form must be filled and put into brown A4 envelope along with any photographs that can be shared for the souvenir. The envelope must be handed over to the Registration Desk. This can be done later on but must be done before 1 pm.
  6. Family Photograph: Immediately after registration, please make sure you are photographed with your family.

PERSONAL DATA FORM

  1. The welcome kit contains a personal data form with data partially filled in.
  2. Please check the data and correct if required
  3. And fill in the data where it is missing
  4. Put the filled form back into the envelope
  5. Please also put any pictures that you can share with the group.

GROUP PHOTOGRAPH

  1. We will have a group photograph of all batchmates at 1 PM before lunch. Please make yourself available in front of Murugappa Hall for the group photograph.
  2. The photograph will be only of the individual members of the four disciplines. This photo is not with family. (Fitting in 250+ into a photo is not feasible).

CAMPUS TOUR

  1. We have requested the college to keep the classrooms, labs & workshops open for our visit between 11 AM and 3 PM.
  2. Volunteers from the final year will be available to guide & escort us through the campus and the hostels.
  3. This will be a parallel activity to the other programs and you can schedule it as you like. Please check detailed program schedule for the other activities.

REMINISCENCE

  1. Each person will be called out to introduce themselves and their families and also share their memories of ACCET.
  2. Each person will be allowed a maximum of 2 minutes.
  3. The most interesting narration will win a prize. The winner will be decided by all batchmates using the voting slip provided in the welcome kit.
  4. What to say: anything interesting and not controversial
  5. What not to say: anything negative about anybody

VOTING SLIP

  1. You need to select the person who makes the most interesting presentation of their reminiscence.
  2. Enter the name of the person you choose and drop it into the Voting box.
  3. Please do this after all members have shared their experience.

MEMENTO COLLECTION

  1. Memento Collection slip has been placed in the welcome kit.
  2. The slip will have your name and department
  3. You can collect the memento from the counter between 5pm and 7pm only.
  4. Please sign the collection slip acknowledging receipt of the memento.

LUCKY DRAW

Lucky Draw tickets of Rs. 100 each are being sold throughout the day. The winner of the lucky draw will win a Numeric UPS of MRP Rs. 7,500 (sponsored by Boby Thomas). In addition the winner also gets 25% of the sales proceeds from the Lucky Draw. The balance 75% goes to ACCET87 Foundation.

GOLDEN CHEST

The Golden Chest will be a treasure trove of memory deposits (MDs) with each one us depositing something which we get to open & see only after another 25 years. The Golden Chest will be sealed on August 11, 2012 and will be opened again ONLY on Saturday, August 15, 2037, on the occasion of our Golden Jubilee Celebration. A special chest has been designed for us to place deposit items. The custody of the Chest will change every year. The key to the chest will be with a person other than the custodian and it will also rotate every year. We will have an Annual Reunion in August during which we will handing over ceremony every year in August by which the custody of the Chest will be passed on to a different person.

When will the chest be opened?
The chest will be opened on August 15, 2037.

What is the capacity of the chest?
The capacity of the chest is roughly 10 litres

What can be deposited?
Anything that can last 25 years without degradation can be deposited.

What cannot be deposited?
Any item that can degrade in 25 years cannot be deposited. CDs, DVDs, Memory Cards etc cannot be dropped as they will lose data. No electronic device with battery inside. Color photos will fade. No chemical, liquid or explosive materials. No object or substance that is banned or illegal.

What size of objects can be deposited?
Objects the size of a matchbox are acceptable & ideal. Objects with one side longer than a matchbox are accepted provided
no side of the object exceeds 15 cm & the volume of the object is under 100 cc.

Who owns the items dropped in the chest?
The deposits in the chest will be the property of the person dropping it. However, the item cannot be claimed until 15th August 2037, when the chest is scheduled to be opened.
